Plant Manager automotive - US, SC

Our customer is a tier one automotive supplier in the area exterior - plastics. The company mainly engaged in development, manufacturing and sales of the components of auto such as bumpers, plastic products, moulds and high-tech mould and plastic products. This is a concern with worldwide plants. 

For the plant in US, SC nearby Greenville we are looking for a 

Plant Manager

  • Manages the daily operations of the plant personally or through subordinate managers
  • Oversees new product introduction and lead capital equipment justification and installation
  • Reviews various KPI attainments daily, weekly, monthly and annually
  • Develops, evaluates and improves processing methods and equipment Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion
  • Analyzes profit and loss, burden rates and other relevant financial information and takes appropriate action to meet established budgets and goals
  • Maintains strict adherence to standardized work practices and customer approvals for required changes
  • Defines equipment and capital investments required to support manufacturing and service needs
  • Ensures annual Organization Development plans are in place, including individual development and including succession planning
  • Evaluates, delegates and motivates subordinate managers
  • Ensures customer satisfaction
  • Ensures manufacturing readiness and launches at plant level
  • Drives supplier performance improvement
  • Drives plant improvement networks and involve everyone in continuous improvement processes
  • Ensures employee’s safety, respect for the environment and security of the plant
  • Fulfills legal responsibilities and interface with local authorities

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree or 10 years of related experience; and/or combination of education/experience
  • Engineering and/or business management education desired
  • 8-10 years of experience in operations management in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, preferred in exteriors
  • Knowledge in KAIZEN, CIP, ISO TS 16949
  • Proven experience in production management, six sigma and lean manufacturing
  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proven experience in team management with leadership and coaching skills
  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, employee relations, quality, productivity and cost
  • Ability to build effective teams, to build and manage a P&L budget
  • Leadership, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required
  • Results orientation
  • Fluent English
